Charlie's first Halloween was pretty low key. We hung out together watching football and just enjoyed a lazy Saturday!! That night some of our friends came over to hang out and help us hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters. I worked at the hospital the past 3 years so it was fun to see all the cute kids in their costumes this year and apparently we live in a popular neighborhood for trick-or-treaters... we gave out two 5 lb bags of candy! The dentists love us this year :)

Charlie was on his right side in my belly almost my whole pregnancy and here is a video clip proving that he still loves to lay on his right side.

Sweet boy. Everyone thinks he looks like me in this picture. My mom tells me everyday how much he reminds her of me. Here is a picture of me when I was a newborn to compare. :)
Before my milk came in we had to give Charlie a little formula so he wouldn't be so hungry. He was a little jaundice so it helped him not look so yellow!! We took a video of us feeding him with a syringe because he opened his mouth like a little bird being fed. I called the formula "dessert!" :) We only had to do it for a few days so, sorry honey, no more dessert, just Mom's milk. (its my mom talking in the video)

Charlie is here!!

23 1/2 hours after my water broke/labor our sweet boy has arrived!! I pushed for about an hour an a half and then all the sudden he came. Carson and I cannot even begin to describe how amazing it feels to hold our son. What a special blessing from the Lord!! He's very healthy and a very happy little guy! Came out crying, but is easily consoled. When he's upset he has the cutest little quivering bottom lip. My mom and Carson were champs helping me push and coaching me throughout labor.

Who knew we could love someone so much?!?! He's truly the most special and priceless gift from the Lord. Carson and I still can't hardly look at him without tearing up because he's just so precious. We love you little Charlie!

39 weeks pic and plan for Charlie's arrival!!

Someone has been feeding Charlie and I think her name is Julianne!! :) I'm not really swollen, but my fingers are a little bit. I didn't want my rings to get stuck on my wedding finger so I bought a $20 ring from Dillard's to wear these last couple of weeks. It's funny how many compliments I receive about it. I tried to take a picture of it to post on here but the cubic zirconium is just too sparkly!!

I went to the doctor yesterday and she didn't really say how much I was dilated or effaced... she just said things are going in the right direction and he's ready. The sonogram estimated that he is about 7 lbs and is still head down. The plan: if he doesn't make his appearance this weekend, we will be admitted to the hospital Monday night and then I will be induced Tuesday (the 20th) at 6am!! Anyone who knows me can agree that I'm not a morning person and that is super early! I guess the Lord is preparing me to be a mom with that too. Our lives will never be the same. Carson and I are packed and ready to go. We are so ready to see little Charlie's face!! Thanks for the prayers. XOXO

38 weeks & Update on baby Charlie: I went to the doctor today and everything looks great! I'm still only 1cm dilated (same as last week) and about 20% effaced. So we're still on track for October 18th... but probably later! :) Her words were, "unless your water breaks today, he's not coming anytime soon." He was estimated to weigh about 6lbs, 12oz today! I was a little nervous because they had me on the fetal monitor and he wasn't moving much (they like him to move at least 3 good times in 20 minutes)... BUT then they turned me on my side and he went crazy, like usual! :) They also gave me some juice to get him moving for the next 20 minutes. I already knew, but it was affirmed that he doesn't like it when I'm on my back! :)

I have 3 friends (Emily, Emily & Katie) who were all due the same week as me or after... well, they already gave birth to 3 beautiful babies! Little Charlie must be like his Mom... always late!! :)
