Video updates

Ok so two of the cutest videos are too long to upload to the blog, but here are two other cute ones from a couple weekends ago in Kerrville. One is him jumping in his Johnny Jump up just having a grand ol' time! The other one is pretty fun of Charlie swimming with his (older) buddy Blake (our godson). Charlie doesn't know quite how to handle Blake's excitement for the pool! :) You can see Ashley calming Charlie down and we're so excited that she's prego again!!!!!!!

Hopefully we can get some shorter cute videos of Charlie laughing and doing his silly screaming voice! I promise to post a really long update this week or this weekend!! We've been really busy!!

Ok so I was able to upload two more cute videos. One is Charlie's means of transportation. No, its not crawling or scotting or army crawl... he's a steam roller! He just rolls around to where he needs to be or to get his toys! It's funny and pretty cute. You can see that he gets his feet underneath him like he's going to crawl but it's really just a tease, cause he just ends up rolling. Heck, he'll figure it out soon! :) Words of advice from other friends, we already lowered his crib just in case he starts crawling tonight!

Let me prepare you for this one. He is easily excited and does this wierd thing with his hands, mouth, feet and head when he's excited. As one friend called it, "he's ruffling his feathers"!! It's so strange that I've even asked a few co-workers if I need to take him in for a neuology consult!!!!!!! You'll see on the video that he tilts his head back and moves his hands and feet around when he gets excited, kinda like he doesn't know how to control his excitement! It's pretty funny. Inbetween episodes of excitement he sucks his toes! Don't worry, my co-workers say its normal. Well, after you view the video, what's your diagnosis? :)

7 months old!

Height: between 27-28 inches

Weight: about 16 pounds

This boy can EAT!!!!! He has about 4-5 bottles a day (about 24-28 ounces total) and eats about 3 or 4 jars of baby food and/or cereal a day too!!!!! Right now he likes 2nd foods and sometimes we just give him some little pieces of table food. He's started to like the meats now too!

He can sit up on his own and it trying to figure out the whole crawling thing. If he wants to reach a toy on the floor he typically rolls over to it. He thinks it's faster to roll than crawl!!

If he's upset we just set him in front of the window... he could be happy either looking outside or playing outside all day.

Look, he has two teeth!! He got his second tooth exactly one month after the first tooth. This was taken by the babysitter at the zoo! She takes him to the zoo about once a week now if it's not too hot.

He still loves bath time! He just recently saw his reflection in that little silver overspill drain. It's so funny. I'm sure he's thinking, "Look Mom! There's a little baby right there!"

Belize 2010

We had such a wonderful trip to Belize for Kendall & Zach's wedding. It was so relaxing and a much needed vacation for our whole family. Here are some pics of our fun trip!

Charlie slept the entire plane ride down there just like this, sucking his thumb... precious!!!!!!

He slept for about an hour and then he played in an empty seat between me and Carson.... because he learned how to sit up on his own in Belize!!!!!!! Such a big boy. He still would rather lay down and roll around all over the floor, but he'll sit for about 2 minutes before getting distracted.

After the big plane, the small plane, the quick taxi ride, we were taken to the resort via water taxi!!! Charlie again was a champ!! He loved his first boat ride. As you can see, he's happy to be in Belize!

6 months old!

He was pretty upset with his shots, but quickly got over it. He fell asleep on the way home and was back to normal after his nap! What a blessing!!

At least he's consistent!! He's so interactive now and still just full of smiles and laughter everyday! Our bear is super happy unless he's hungry or tired. I have the most precious video of him from last week. He was making these cute happy guggling and screaming sounds, just entertaining himself for about 20 minutes and just rolling all over the floor talking to himself. I got about 3 mintues of it with our new fancy video camera, but I can't figure out how to convert the files so our MAC can read them and download them to this blog. Geez!!!!! I haven't tried to download them yet using the PC so maybe I'll try that this weekend. Hopefully you'll get to see it cause it's stinkin' cute!!

He can't sit up yet, but probably very soon!! He's really enjoying all of the yummy food that we made him too. He's likes all of the veggies and fruit that we've given him too. We've really been enjoying the beautiful weather, going on walks, sitting outside, and last night we enjoyed eating dinner outside with Debbie, Jack, Tucker, and Debbie's mom at Central Market (we need to do that again soon). Here is a pic of Charlie enjoying some of my water at CM (see above, I can't move it)!! :)

Carson's birthday=Charlie's first tooth!

Yes, the title is true!! Charlie got his first tooth on Carson's 29th birthday (April 14th)! Here are some cute pictures of the many celebrations of Carson's birthday...

We had a cookout last weekend because some of our dear friends, the Ezzells, were in town from Colorado. So we brought some birthday cake to the cookout to start his birthday celebration a little early. Look at all of these babies that were born within 7 months of each other. Left to right: Debbie and Tucker, KayLynne and Carly, me and Charlie, Ashley and Lilla. We LOVED the fellowship with our dear friends and look forward to the next cookout!!

(You don't have to tell me, I know my face is super-duper ROUND... that's why I'm seriously starting the Weight Watchers this week! No more joking around about it! You can all hold me accountable!!!)

I took this the night before Charlie got his first tooth. After his bath, I always brush his hair to the side. Doesn't he look so handsome? It obviously doesn't stay that way, but it's still cute for a few minutes.

We had another little celebration on Carson's actual birthday with a small-group burger cookout at the Kovacs'. I made Carson a key lime pie and his only birthday request was a new pair of fishing sunglasses for Belize (pictures to come in May!). This is the night that Charlie's first tooth came in and as you can see, he didn't want to open his mouth for a picture... but, as always, he loved his bath!!! Isn't he so handsome? If he keeps these looks up he'll be fighting off the girls when he's older!! Lord help me!!! :)

I think Charlie could do this for hours!!! He loves to watch the water come out of the cup. Sometimes he just watches, sometimes he tries to catch it, sometimes he just kicks and splashes, but it always mesmerizes him!

I had off Friday this week from work so I took some pictures of our happy boy. Thank you Jesus for our little joyful bear!! If I just open my mouth, stick out my tongue and say "ahhh" he giggles!

Recently started chewing on his toes.... sometimes with his thumb in his mouth at the same time! That's serious talent!

Recently he makes a lot of grunting sounds or says "mamama" or "humm".... and he still likes to squeal too.

Then last night (16th), Carson and I went to dinner at Ellerbe's. We got a TCU nursing student (Go Frogs!) to keep Charlie and enjoyed a romantic dinner just the two of us! Dinner was fantastic and I would recommend Ellerbe's to everyone!!

Charlie has really become more adventurous with his foods recently. Last weekend Carson and I made a bunch of his baby food and froze it. It was so much fun and I would recommend it to everyone who is getting ready to start feeding their baby foods. We used the Beaba Babycook from Williams Sonoma (but they sell it lots of places) and it's super easy and saves money! We even used all organic foods too. If anyone wants to borrow it and try it out, let me know. We made squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, bananas and blueberries, peas, green beans, apples, mixed veggies and carrots. We later found out that the longer cooked carrots are frozen, the more the nitrous level increases in them... which would not be good for Charlie. I researched it a little more and found this article. So sadly, we threw away our mixed veggies and carrots, but we probably could have kept them for a short period frozen... oh well. I bought some mangos and peaches yesterday to make for him. And I ended up just buying the regular canned carrots for him at Target! :)

We love you, Carson, and are grateful for a wonderful, sweet, loving and fun husband/dad everyday. Happy birthday!!! Love- Jules and Charlie
