Kovacs' going away party

October 17th we had a little chili cookout in honor of our dear friends, the Kovacs. The just sold their house and are moving south to Austin for Zoli's job. We met Ashley and Zoli at church when we joined a small group just a few months after we married in 2005. They have been a huge blessing in our marriage and helped make FW feel like home. We have countless memories with these sweet friends from our Chevy Sunfire in Hungary, numerous cookouts with bacon wrapped (fill in the blank), birthday parties for all, dinners together off paper plates from the toaster oven, fixing up either other's houses, small groups, prayers over each other, pregnancies, crying and laughing over our sweet babies, parking posse at church, ice cream, Bachelor/Bachelorette girls' nights, killing snakes at the lake, water skiing and the list goes on and on.... basically they are our FW family and we will truly miss them being so close! The Lord really blessed us with their friendships...

Charlie's Louisiana birthday

October 15th, Charlie and I traveled to Alexandria, LA for my cousin's wedding. Since Charlie was sporting his fancy new ear tubes, he did GREAT on the flight! Here he is munchin' on some Cheerios...

On Saturday we had a little birthday lunch with my cousins to celebrate Charlie's 1st! Here is my mom with my sweet little niece, Izzie.

Surgery: Ear tubes

When Charlie started daycare in August, he had an ear infection for about a month. After 4 different antibiotics, he finally felt better. I looked in his ears and could see that they were still full of fluid. He also kept pulling at his ears everyday and shaking his head like he wanted to get something out. While I was at work, I asked one of the ENTs if he could get Charlie in to see if he needed ear tubes... long story short, yes, he needed them. The benefit of my job is I was able to have the best care ever!! All of my sweet co-workers took GREAT care of our sweet baby. Here he is at his pre-op visit with my friend, Tracey, looking like a happy little chipmunk!!

Doctor said his ears were full of nasty, thick mucous. Carson and I agree that we can tell a difference in him and know that he feels much better!!

Pumpkins

Our sweet friends, the Henrys, came to visit. The adults attended the Tech vs. Baylor game on Saturday and then that night we took the boys to get some ADORABLE pictures in the pumpkin patch. Here the boys are on Friday (the 8th) splashing around together in the tub.

11 months

On his 11 month birthday we took Charlie to get his first hair cut! Here he is with his long, shaggy hair.... I'll be the first to admit that I TOTALLY regret it and wish it was still uncut, but too late for that. Here is the big event...

Although I regret it... is this not the most precious picture of him?? Carson and I laugh that he just has that precious little smirk and looks like a grown boy ready to go to kindergarten.
