July 2011

July was a relaxing and fun month! I celebrated my 30th birthday too!

Carson and Charlie made me this one-of-a-kind birthday card. I love my sweet boys so much and I'm truly blessed.

Charlie told Dada to draw a "choo-choo" and a "quack quack" for my birthday card and then Bear colored them for me.

Updates from his class. This summer on Thursdays after their naps, the ice cream truck came to see his class and they enjoyed some yummy treats. They also had splash day on Fridays where we sent him all sunscreened up in his swimsuit and they had water activites outside in the morning. Sounds like fun to me!

Dinner with a few of the girls from my mom's group: me, Joyelle, Molly, Jillian, Stephanie and Hilary (we missed the rest of you)

On my birthday we met some friends at the pool! Charlie and Luke having fun together
Now I'm 30!! Yikes! (wearing a cap to protect my face from wrinkles from the sun, haha!)

Me and Natalie

Me and Hilary
Thank you girls for a fun day of celebration! Hilary brought me this yummy cake and hilarious candle that says "OMG!"

We went to my friend Ashley's engagement party too! We are so excited and happy about their upcoming wedding this fall. (Ashley was my big sister in my sorority at UT and just a dear, special friend and prayer warrior.)

The two love birds, Ashley and Steve

My love bug

We went to Caroline's parents' house for dinner and swimming one night. Charlie loves his Aunt Line and JJ!! (no they aren't married yet, but he calls her Aunt Line)
Caroline and Justus, cute as always
Having lots of fun in the pool!
He jumped off the side a hundred times!
We went swimming as much as possible this July. We had a streak of over 40 days of temperatures above 100. It rained 1 day, then continued to stay above 100. One day it went up to 111!!!!! We went swimming a couple of times with Charlie's buddy Wyatt. These two always have fun together!

He's happy to be in the pool!

This picture of Wyatt just CRACKS me up!! He is serious about this swimming business!

Charlie and Wyatt (or "Wy Wy" as Charlie says) enjoying some orange sherbert after dinner

Then we had to clean all that ice cream off! Jake (Wyatt's dad) laughed that we took their picture together in the tub and asked if we were going to put this picture in their yearbook their senior year :)

With some girls one night at dinner for a friends' birthday. Emily, me and Ashley (sorry its a little washed out)

Debbie, me and Katie
Debbie and Tucker came over for dinner one night so we just threw the boys in the tub together. Two little blondies. Charlie can say "Tucker" very well too! They threw a fit to have their own cups that night.
Sweet, happy boys!! Our babies have grown up so much since this picture last July... and both are so much more blonde too.
Dinner club was a swim party this month!! We all had a great time too! Emily, Lindsey and me
Me and Hilary
Whitney, Kim, Ashley and Laura

Suzie, Debbie and Katie. Thanks Suzie for opening your beautiful home!!

Carson's cousin, Monica, was in town with her two sweet girls so to stay out of the heat, we took the kiddos to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Charlie loved the water sprayers! Can you tell?
Shelby had a blast!

Cutie-bug Haley (Charlie and Haley are only about a month apart)

I secretly wish I had a big one of these in my house and then I could make pictures for each season, birthday or special occassion!! Wouldn't that be awesome?!?!

They loved it and the adults stayed cool!
We went swimming again with Whitney and Livy Anne

Livy Anne and Charlie had lots of fun and ate about 200 Teddy Grahams too! :)
I wasn't kidding about all the swimming...

My friend Ashley (previously mentioned) had us over to her new home in Keller! It was so much fun to swim with Jackson and Ashley. Thanks again!! We love yall! Charlie and Jackson are new buds.

Our bear is a FISH this summer. He gets super excited when he sees a pool and says "mo mo wa wa, peas Momma" over and over again. Then just squeals as he jumps in!
Happy Bear. After he jumped in and got out about 50 times, he was tired! He loves to wear this little Puddle Jumper and he's getting pretty good at in now, holding his breath under water and kicking his legs too!
And again, swimming with his buddy, Luke at Ridglea
Uncle Landon came to visit and they wrestled a lot!
Charlie's bubble beard
Being silly. We sing the alphabet often when he puts the letters all over the tub and he says "Momma JJ" which means, Mommy sing ABCs. :)
One of our favorite new pictures of Charlie just being his cute, cheesy self. That face just reminds me of God's goodness and just how grateful I am for our family.

Just a sweet picture Charlie painted for me at school
Just a quick update on me and Carson...

Carson started a new position with the same bank this month. He's much happier and excited to be learning some new roles in the wealth management department! He really enjoys the new group at his office too. He's still working on his MBA (slowly... just one or two classes at a time) and just enjoying being a daddy.

I'm still working as a nurse practitioner in the anesthesia deparment at the same hospital and loving it! I work with a great group of girls and we have lots of fun together too. I'm very excited to say that I'm going part time ( two 10 hour shifts per week) starting in January! No, I'm not pregnant just wanting some more time at home with Charlie.

Charlie is learning more and more everyday. In July and August he has really figured out this whole talking bit. He can say at least 80 words, if not more, and is repeating everything we say now! He started saying his colors too. He has the sweetest, most gentle and sensitive spirit. He gets a little excited and silly when he plays with his friends and of course when he wrestles with Daddy. When his "terrible two" side shows and we have to put him in time-out, his heart is just broken. Majority of the time we can just talk to him about making good choices and he listens!! We can always bribe the child with trains or M&Ms too :) Carson and I laugh that he's a reptile because he only eats one huge meal per week. The rest of the time he just eats a few bites at each meal. He loves to read books of all kinds, dance to music, watch Thomas, Mickey Mouse, Babar or Seseame Street, and gives the best kisses in the world. Everynight we sit in his chair, read books, drink milk, brush our teeth, sing songs and say our prayers. Our favorite thing is when he says Amen, because it comes out "Ah-meeen"! Overall, we cannot say enough good things about him. He's one happy kid!!
