Julianne crawling compared to Charlie

My mom sent me this video of when I was a little girl. Can you see the similarities to Charlie bear's iguana crawl?? (sorry the video is so small, click on the right hand bottom corner to enlarge the video... and sorry there is no sound) Do you think we look alike too?

9 months old!!

Can you believe this precious angel is already 9 months old?

Still loves his bath time! No more baby tub, he's moved on to the big tub and loves to splash around now!!

He loves to play in the kitchen too!

He learned how to pull up in his crib too! (on his knees... hasn't figured out how to get his feet under him yet)

We went to see Dr. Ozaeta and no shots, just a check up! He's healthy and finally out of the 10th percentile for his weight!!!!!!

Weight: 18 lbs 12 oz (20th percentile)

Length: 29 in (75th percentile)

Head circumference: 18 1/4 in (75th percentile)

He eats almost all table food now too (plus formula 4 times a day)! He babbles "mama" and "baba" and his favorite thing to do is stick his tongue out and make a "ppphhh" sound and spit everywhere! He got his first kiss at church the other day too. We went to pick him up from the nursery and the teacher said another girl crawled over to him, grabbed his face and laid a big wet kiss on his lips!! At least it was a "holy" kiss! Doesn't she know those are MY baby lips? :)

We decided to enroll Charlie in daycare too. He starts August 10th (well he's going for a few hours on the 9th to try it out). We're so sad to not be using our nanny everyday but we promised her that she's still our #1 babysitter for when we need a date night out!! It was a mutual decision that Charlie is ready to start playing with other kiddos his age. The bonus is he will be right across the street from the hospital where I work so I can visit him on my lunch break. Two of my nurse practitioner friends have their kids in the same classroom too, so Charlie will get to play with Peyton and Owen everyday too! I've only heard wonderful things about this daycare and we go to meet his teachers this afternoon so I will keep you posted. :)

Charlie, you continue to be your mommy and daddy's favorite part of our day! You bring us joy each day with your sweet laughter and your precious smile. We continue to thank our Lord for you everyday!!! We love you so much bear!!

My BFF from college, Allison, is having a baby girl!! I made her a few cute things for Miss Mattie Ann and I cannot wait to love on that precious angel. I was so sad to miss the shower in Kerrville too. More pics of her shower here. She sure had me on my knees the past few weeks with her frequent trips to the hospital. Finally they were able to figure out she had kidney stones!! She's on the mend, doing much better, and due 8.9.10!! Wouldn't that be a fun birthday!! On my 29th birthday (July 6th) Charlie and I attempted to go swimming with Debbie, Tucker and Jack. Well, two different pools were closed, so we just hung out. Debbie and I didn't even plan this, but look, Tucker and Charlie are twinks!! Instead, that night we went out to eat with the Slays and Armstrongs to celebrate me! Thanks for being such sweet friends, I love yall!

Carson started to let Charlie play with his duck call. He's even learned how to blow it too! (see video below) It's so cute! He'll be ready to duck hunt before we know it!

An all new low??

Poling Ranch/4th of July weekend

We spent a fun weekend in Amarillo and then all day on Saturday (July 3rd) at Carson's grandfather's ranch (Poling Ranch in Fritch, TX). I think this was the 4th annual cousins' reunion! For a fun activity for all the cousins, Monica had the genius idea to play the alphabet game! We went around the ranch and found different letters from the alphabet. We had multiples of many letters but then Meredith put the best ones together for this poster. How cute is this? (Click on it for a larger view) The dead snake even made it into the poster as an "E". :)

We had our 2nd annual "crap swap" too! Monica wrote about her finds here. Do you remember those pillows that I used to make in college? Well, they are now Shelby and Haley's jewels!! I scored some cute Pottery Barn bumper pads that I'm going to use for the crib at my parents' house!

Now he is really crawling. I think he looks like an iguana crawling around and when he spins its like a little break-dancing! One perk to the army crawl... he helps keep the floors clean! :)

We have found that cleaning Charlie's ears is one of the few ways to calm him down! :)

Well, I spoke too soon on my last post because Charlie started to officially crawl (army crawl) on June 30th. My mom said I never crawled, I only army crawled and then just started pulling up. Charlie not only looks like my but apparently he crawls like me too!
